âšī¸ Overview
I got a chance to join the New Years Day Open Play at Dill Dinkers Rockville which ended up being a lot of fun! Though ironically enough, I kicked off 2025 by getting pickled in my first game đ .
đ Statistics
- Intermediate Division (3.0 - 3.5):
- Wins: 5
- Losses: 2 (both were pickles đ)
- Intermediate Advanced Division (3.5 - 4.0)
- Wins: 0
- Loss: 4
â Highlights
- Managed to implement some of the things I learned from my lesson with Christian in gameplay. Resets are something that I'm still not confident in, but at least I was starting to attempt them in actual games.
- Played against a number of more advanced players that clearly outplayed me. I was almost able to win the last game, but couldn't close it out in the end.
đ§ Reflections
- Even though I won most of my intermediate division games, the point differentials were actually pretty close, so my estimated ranking of ~3.25 seems about accurate since it's not like I'm dominating my opponents.
- The knee compression sleeves were actually very helpful in making me feel more confident to chase balls across the court, so this might be a regular thing for me!
- Got pretty quick at getting the recording setup up and running, but I did find myself more confined to a specific court since otherwise I'd have to set it up again. Something to consider for future recordings...
